Aid for the cultural and creative industry

From 29 December 2020 to 31 March 2021, enterprises operating in the cultural and creative industry can apply for a subsidy, which is the response of the Government of the Slovak Republic to mitigate the negative economic consequences due to the adopted extraordinary measures in connection with the spread of the COVID-19 illness.

The aid is intended for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in one of the cultural and creative industries with a predominant business activity in the financial statements according to the SK NACE code list. These are concert organizers, promotional and advertising agencies, commercial theaters and cinemas, etc. A precondition is that the applicant recorded a decrease in turnover from 1 March 2020 to 31 December 2020 by at least 30% compared to the same reference period in 2019.

The aid will be provided for uncovered fixed costs, i.e., costs which are not covered by the profit contribution and which are not also covered by other sources such as insurance, temporary aid measures under the Temporary Framework for State aid measures to support the economy in the current COVID-19 outbreak or aid from other sources. Micro and small enterprises can receive the aid of up to 90% of uncovered fixed costs, and medium-sized enterprises can receive the aid of up to 70%.
